Tweede Kamerleden doneren 2000 euro aan Serious Request
donderdag 23 december 2010 16:47 Tweede Kamerlid Joël Voordewind heeft donderdag 2000 euro bij het Glazen Huis van 3FM's Serious Request gebracht. Het is de opbrengst van een collecte bij de Tweede Kamerleden door het ChristenUnie-Kamerlid. Het geld van Serious Request is bestemd voor het Rode Kruis dat aids-weeskinderen helpt een toekomst op te bouwen.
Voordewind heeft onder zijn collega’s in de Tweede Kamer een inzamelingsactie houden voor de Serious Request-actie van radio 3fm, het Rode Kruis en Stop Aids Now. Hij neemt dit stokje over van zijn oud-ChristenUnie-collega Ed Anker die in 2007 is begonnen met de inzamelingsactie onder Kamerleden. Voordewind werd vergezeld door PvdA-Kamerlid Martijn van Dam. De rondgang met 'de pet' heeft 500 euro meer opgeleverd dan vorig jaar, laat Voordewind weten.

Voordewind heeft de afgelopen twee jaar geld vrijgemaakt voor projecten die aidswezen opvangen, onderwijs geven en in hun dagelijks onderhoud voorzien.
Via schriftelijke vragen heeft het Kamerlid het kabinet opgeroepen ook een bijdrage te leveren aan de Serious Request-actie van 3fm, het Rode Kruis en Stop Aids Now. Voordewind: ,,Het grote succes van het Glazen Huis laat zien dat ontwikkelingshulp onder de bevolking leeft. Door de transparante wijze van werken weten we dat Serious Request ook echt werkt. Laten we met z’n allen, kabinet én bevolking een succes maken van het Glazen Huis.”

- Bent u bereid om namens het kabinet toe te zeggen om, net als in voorgaande jaren, een ‘substantiële bijdrage’ aan deze publieksactie toe te zeggen?
